Haneda Shukichi, also known as Taiko Meijin, takes on Katsumata Chikara in a meijin title match in Yamanashi Prefecture. Just before the second day`s match begins, Shukichi receives a threatening letter from a man calling himself the Headless Shogi Player who claims to have kidnapped Shukichi`s girlfriend Miyamoto Yumi.
